Strip Club Music You Should Know

Why Music at a Topless Bar is Important

One common denominator for strip clubs all over the country, or the world for that matter, is music. That and naked women, but I digress. Back to the music. If you are ever going to get comfortable in a club and feel at home, like you belong, you must get comfortable with the music. It's always going to be there, and it can be a big help once you get comfortable with it.

If you are over 35, or just not a big dance club guy, a lot of the music will be totally new to you. Sure there will be a few classic rock tunes, but it will be mixed in with the latest dance tracks and hip hop hits.

I can hear you now, "oh geez. I hate rap." Are you sure you want to date a stripper? Because this will probably be part of her world and tastes. Besides, hip hop in general is lot more fun and party oriented than traditional rap. Hey, I'm as white as they come and way over 40, and I love hip hop.

Being in the club a lot has introduced me to a ton of new music. Not just hip hop, but some great new hard rock (that I call "angry white boy" music), driving industrial, and great pop latino music. It's one of the reasons I like a club with white, black, latin, and asian women. They play a better variety of music.

Use the Music!

Like I said, the music and help you, but you gotta know it. Getting comfortable with it tells the girls and the staff that this is your kind of place. No matter what you look like or how old you are, it tells them that you are current, a bit edgy, and probably more fun that they thought.

How I Figured This Out

This had never occurred to me until one night I was at a club I had only been to a few times leaning against the bar. A striking young black girl was dancing on the bar and came over behind me to work a tip.

As I looked up I was just singing along with a hip hop song by Lil' John and The Eastside Boys called Get Low, and she called me on it. She laughed at me and said, "What are you trying to do? Baby, you don't know nothin' 'bout this music!" I just kept on singing along to the song as the hook line came along and I shouted out and pointed along with the song, "From the windowwww to the Wall! Till the sweat drops down my balls!"

Well you would have thought this was the funniest thing she had ever seen. She hooted, danced in a circle, jumped down off the bar and gave me a big hug. From that moment to today, for some reason she thinks I'm the coolest white man she ever met.

She still brings her friends over to me and we all stand around, dance, and rap with a song and just have a blast. The point is, just knowing the music is one of those things that will help you shake the image of being a customer, some boring guy, and help you build your rep and an insider. All it takes is one or two little things like that.

There are a lot of ways to use the music. Get to know it and I'm sure you will stumble on a few new ones, but here are some ways that I have had good luck with:

  • Sing a long with a girl. It's a good way to connect with someone you want to meet, or to flirt across the room with someone you already know.
  • Use it as a topic of conversation. For a while I was seeing a girl that was a huge Audioslave fan. So for a while there, I was the world's foremost authority! I read up on all the band members, kept up with the news and from their website, and we always had something to talk about that was related to something in our lives outside the club.
  • Dance a bit. I know about two salsa dance moves, but there is one Mexican dancer I know who will grab me by the hand at least once a night when she gets bored, and we will dance in the corner for a few minutes. It's fun because I use it as an excuse to grope her pretty good, sliding my hands up and down her body... but hey it's OK because we are dancing!
  • Use it to compliment. Many clubs let the girl on the main stage pick her music. First, that's always a good question to ask to start a conversation (even if you know the answer), and second you can compliment the dancer on her choice of music.

This is a Good Place to Start
